Sunrise Side Costal Highway

Arenac County

Standish Omer AuGres

Once you have left the interstate highway you are officially "up north" and Standish is the welcome center for travelers along US-23. The community is in the process of purchasing and restoring its railroad depot at the corner of US-23 and M-61 to provide a true Welcome Center to the region. The communities of Standish, Omer, and AuGres are the first in a string of unique and interesting places to visit along the route. Omer is the home of the Rifle River and canoeing while AuGres is known as the "Perch Capital" of Michigan. With its harbor and marina right on US-23 it also provides the gateway to Charity Island and Saginaw Bay Walleyes.
